Tin Ohn Khaing is a first cycle loan client at the WPF supported Shan State Branch. This branch was just opened in early 2019. She split her 200,000 MMK ($129 USD) loan into two parts – investing 120,000 MMK ($77 USD) in the purchase of a pig and 80,000 MMK ($52 USD) to purchase irrigation piping for her strawberry field. The area is known for strawberry cultivation. She used to carry water from the canal to water the strawberries but now the piping connects to a more convenient water source, allowing her to increase her strawberry yield and save time to focus on her business.
