It has been a little slow around the office today, at least for me. I don’t know about you guys but I always look forward to the weekends in order to catch up on sleep and get some serious relaxation in. However, this never, ever, happens. Instead, I spend my weekends doing everything I couldn’t do during the week, which don’t get me wrong, is a blast, but come Monday, I sometimes find myself running on empty, and more tired than I was on Friday after a full work week. Lucky for me though, I work with awesome people in an great place, doing amazing work. I am grateful to not have this lady telling me I look like I have a case of the Monday’s or as commenter MaghoxFr points out, someone repeating

Does anyone love this movie as much as I do? Don’t tell, but I might have spent the past 15 minutes laughing to myself, rewatching clips of my favorites scenes. My Team might think I am little crazy.
Speaking of Team, our first round of Team Member Volunteers just returned from a two week trip to Kenya. The purpose of our Team Member Volunteer Program is to encourage volunteerism among Whole Foods employees, meet microcredit clients and offer the opportunity for them to see what we do in the field first hand. This year we offered trips to Guatemala, India, Kenya, and Peru. We’ve partnered with our friends at Global Vision International, The Miracle Foundation and Comfort The Children to provide a unique experiences in each of these countries. This is the first year that we have expaned the trips to include family memebers and we are hoping that we can include customers in the near future. In Kenya, Whole Foods Market volunteers and Comfort The Children met up to build a chicken coop to help support the local youth with an income generating project and educate school children about environmental efforts by greening their village.
