Acceso’s pioneering ‘seed to market’ approach builds the whole supply chain between smallholder farmers and formal markets, helping its producer members to build the operational infrastructure needed to get their produce to market, and then selling it for them. Acceso’s offer to members is distinctly accessible since Acceso neither charges interest on the inputs they loan nor require down payments from members. Instead, Acceso marks up inputs by just 3%. In return, members commit to selling their produce to Acceso, which Acceso aggregates and sells in bulk.
This project funds the financing for Acceso’s Fruit and Vegetable production which includes over 50 crops including tomatoes, beans, onions, and more. Project participants receive seedlings, microtunnels, and compost on credit.
