The Rural Finance Initiative (RUFI) is a microfinance institution which started in South Sudan in 2008. They expanded to Uganda in 2017 to follow clients who were fleeing civil unrest in their home country.
RUFI’s Uganda operations provide business loans and some cross border financial services directly to refugees living in settlements in the northwestern section of the country.
